MAPA ATBP NO. 04: An Excerpt from Tandang-Tandâ: Ang Muling Pagtilaok - The Office of Foresight Compendium

MAPA ATBP NO. 04 is a publication by Alfred Marasigan. It is an excerpt of Tandang-Tandâ: Ang Muling Pagtilaok — The Office of Foresight Compendium, a collection of texts, documentation, and multimedia from the project’s 2025 iterations: a game, a livestream, and an exhibition together with Bianca Ma-alat, Mia Lopez, Laura Cabochan, Tommy Alvarado, Wes Lipana, Jerwin Darag, and Manel Solsoloy. Supported by the Kwan Laurel Grant for Research and Creative Work and the Ateneo de Manila’s School of Humanities Office of the Dean, the Compendium supplements the project’s live and onsite components. With over 100 images and covering almost 3.5 years worth of various artistic, scientific, and pedagogical materials, it attempts to chronicle Tandang-Tandâ: Ang Muling Pagtilaok’s background, influences, conceptualization, and entire production process in a single printed volume about the multitudes and peculiarities of time.

Born in Batangas City (1992) and raised in Lipa, Alfred Marasigan lives and works as an artist, researcher, and educator in Quezon City (PH). He mainly experiments with new media combined with sculpture, performance, installation, and video often via a serendipitous and autoethnographic process. By exploring his fascination with real time, digital anthropology, and various forms of decolonized knowledge production, especially magic realism, he seeks to work towards epistemic dissent.

Marasigan graduated in 2019 with an MA in Contemporary Art from UiT Arctic University of Norway’s Kunstakademiet i Tromsø, and is a Norwegian Council of the Arts Grantee for Newly Graduated Artists. He is now a faculty member of Ateneo de Manila University’s Department of Fine Arts for a decade. His works have been exhibited, screened, and presented locally and internationally including to Page Not Found, PrintRoom, and Collecting Otherwise, Het Nieuwe Instituut (NL), InTheCloset Space: Vilnius (LT), and Cultural Center of the Philippines (PH), to name a few.
